Our History
As Lethbridge has grown, so has our role as a land developer. Since the late 1990s, we’ve become increasingly competitive, adapting to operate much like private firm while guided by City Council. We are proud to be a socially conscious developer driven not by financial gain but rather by creating vibrant, sustainable communities within our city.
All profits from land development stay in Lethbridge and are allocated by City Council to meet operating budget requirements, and to fund capital projects and grants — reducing the need to draw on municipal taxes or loans.
Since 1994, the City has reinvested nearly $80 million of development profits back into the community.
